Grizzly Mountain Repeater

Guidelines

The Grizzly Mountain Repeater is an "open repeater", and is available to all licensed amateur radio operators.

Since the repeater serves a very large geographic area, and provides the only available means of communication in many areas of Central Oregon, contacts should be kept as short as possible. Long conversations are not permitted, except in case of an emergency.

During non-emergency public service events and scheduled net operations, the repeater is available for emergency traffic but not casual contacts.

During a declared emergency, the repeater is dedicated to the exclusive use of ARES/RACES communicators.

Transmissions should be kept to an absolute minimum (except in emergencies) if the overheat signal sounds. Two short tones indicate the finals are on the verge of overheating.

These Repeaterisms provide additional guidance.
